South Suburban Chicago Areas Reaching COVID-19 Thresholds
The region including two south suburban Chicago counties have reached the coronavirus mitigation threshold as of Monday, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health shows.
IDPH shows the seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in the South Suburban Region (including Kankakee and Will counties) has reached a total of 8 percent on August 29 and continues to remain above that level.
The “Restore Illinois” plan mandates regions exceeding 8% coronavirus positivity rate for three consecutive days to have additional mitigation restrictions placed on it by the state of Illinois.
